Georgia Horton is a textile designer, painter, illustrator, maker, and poet.
An insatiable appetite for finding pattern in natural forms led her into textile design over a decade ago.
Born in Zimbabwe and subsequently having lived in South Africa and Tuscany has helped to cultivate her broad and varied interests in nature, science and the arts.
She studied archaeological restoration in Florence and began her career drawing Athenian vases and archaeological artefacts in pointillism for museum catalogues. Painting, drawing and design commissions followed, including many large scale trompe l’oeil and fresco style commissions for private clients in Cape Town and London.
Her quirky collection of contemporary wallpapers includes her best selling signature designs: “Lobster” and “Feather”.
As well as producing her own designs, she works with interior designers, architects and private clients to deliver unique and site- specific solutions to interior projects.
